Were EDMing! MICROmanufacturing interviewed technical director, Mark Cicchetti, of AccuteX EDM, Mason, Ohio, a division of Absolute Machine Tools Inc. on micro wire-EDMing where Cicchetti states the largest issue of using micro wire and the capability that the larger AccuteX machines have to aid in dodging the issue. The photo below is showing a surgical device part used to remove plaque in arteries which was wire-EDMed with a micro sparking technology from AccuteX resulting in finishes as fine as 0.18 µin. Ra.
