Were back from the JFK 50 mile trail run. It was great! I was able to navigate to all of the aid stations along the way and see Jesse run through each of them. I got some good photos of Jesse running along the Potomac and some awful photos of the back of Jesse at the finish, cause I was cheering, not taking a photo when he came in! His time was 7hours 39 minutes. Can you even IMAGINE running for 7 hours? There were around 1,000 crazy people there, and Jesse came in 51st. It was freezing, with a windchill of 16 degrees. Jesse is most comfortable running without a shirt, so he did. So, Im standing, bundled within an inch of my life, near the aid station and here come all of these runners, running along the Potomac in the freezing wind, wearing running tights, jackets, gloves, hats, and here comes my son -- wearing shorts and running shoes. Jesse said a guy he was running with early on asked him where he was from, and when Jesse said Virginia, the guy said, I thought you were going to say Minnesota or something. :D The announcer at the finish line said he should get a special award for the most scantily-clad runner, but his fellow Black Team members called him badass which sounds better than scantily-clad, Mr. Announcer Man.
