Weve had two house fires in 3 days in the area, one in Fairmount on Wednesday and one in Sidell Township last night. Please be sure your smoke alarms are working, and take all precautions with space heaters, wood burning stoves and other methods we are using to try to keep warm during this frigid weather. And thank your local firefighters who have had to deal with fighting fires in the extreme cold and high winds. They deserve so much more of our gratitude and could use more volunteers.
