We’ll sustain existing projects -APC guber candidate osundefender.org/?p=204524 The Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has promised that his administration would complete all projects embarked on by the Governor Chibuike Amaechi-led government, if elected in the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Dr. Peterside stated this yesterday, in Akinima, in Ahoada West Local Government Area, as the party flagged off local government areas’ campaign. He declared that his administration would take priority in infrastructure development, especially completion of road projects, provision of potable water and wealth creation. He said: “On May 29, when by the grace of God, we are sworn in, we will settle down immediately. We will pay special attention to infrastructure in the local government areas, completion of all roads and other projects.” Addressing the teeming APC supporters, who gathered in Akinima, the hometown of his running mate, Asita Okorie Asita, for the rally, the governorship flagbearer assured the dualisation of internal roads in the local government. In his words: “Because we know how important your location is, we will pay attention to the provision of potable water; we will drive away poverty in the state by creating wealth. “We will work hard in partnership with public private sector to develop agriculture and deploy extension service officers in local government to improve the economy of the people. “My brother and I (referring to his running-mate, Asita) will work hard because you do not deserve to suffer. Education sector will be improved; the local government will benefit from the education policy. We will continue to make investment in the healthcare sector.” Earlier in his speech, state Chairman of the APC, Chief Davies Ikanya, urged their supporters not to be intimidated during the general elections, enjoining them to vote en mass for General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) for president, and Dr. Peterside, for governor of the state. Also, the Director-General of Dr. Peterside’s Campaign Organisation and Commissioner for Works, Chief Victor Giadom, while addressing the party supporters, said the governorship flagbearer represented “light, education, development, security and healthcare”, calling their support for APC.
