What I See As The Biggest Problems In Photography Today 1. I viewed one of my photos today on different screens sitting beside each other in a role. Laptop, ipad, s5 Galaxy phone, Minipad, HD television, desktop computer screen. The picture looked different on each device, colors, contrast, brightness, resolution. You name it, it was different. I wonder how many people in the general public even know what their brightness setting is on their laptop? Some devices and operating systems are now coming with out brightness controls. Some less expensive screens have terrible color and picture quality in general. Very few people calibrate their screens on their computers. Spend hours post processing pictures to get them just right and then they are viewed on a screen that is so bright you could put it on your car hood and drive by it at night. I was in Walmart the other night and looked at a role of HD televisions about 20 sets long. The color was different on everyone. If your work is done on a calibrated screen and someone says something about the color or brightness or contrast, etc. It could be because they are looking at it on a crappy and /or out of calibration screen. 2. No one will Im sure, but I would love to know what most people view their pictures on and if they know what the screen brightness is set at?
