What a tremendously emotionally draining day. Courtney did so great today. She was not nervous at all...and even though she was in so much pain that she couldnt lay down, she remained strong, brave, polite and was a willing and compliant patient. I was WAY more nervous and shaken up than she ever even thought of being. She went into surgery with a smile on her face accompanied by my awesomely fantastic cousin Cindy by her side. Jamie and I sat in SDC waiting for her to come out of surgery. What I had expected to be a 20-30 minute surgery turned into an hour and a half. I was crying and a mess worrying about any and every possible bad scenario. I of course was completely over thinking as usual, and she came out of surgery just fine. A VERY HUGE thank you to Dr. Damour for being such a fabulous surgeon and having an awesome bed side manor, also to all the SDC, OR and PACU nurses, and to all my family and friends who prayed, sent special wishes, called, emailed, messaged, etc. It means the world to me.
