What an auspicious day today is. Not only is it the time of the New Moon, but Saturn also turns direct today after almost 5 months of retrograde motion. The New Moon is a time of new beginnings, a chance to clear the cobwebs of the past and start the next lunation cycle with a clean slate. Saturn is forming a trine with the Moon today which means that structure and foundation will be given to your new moon manifestations. The period of Saturn retrograde was challenging to say the least, with fears, doubts, and limitations making their way to the surface to be looked at. When Saturn is retrograde there is also a tendency to want to shirk your responsibilities, as sometimes everything just seems too hard. What this planet does do though is show you where you need to pull you energy in to only focus on things that are important to you. It was likely that when Jupiter was in Gemini that many of us took on more than we could handle, involving ourselves in projects and situations that sometimes either weren’t the best for us, or were never going to lead anywhere. Saturn gives us the gift of being able to cull what is not important-either through external events or an increase in self awareness-and helps us to focus on what is. The square from Uranus and Pluto to the Moon also supports what I said above…it is time to release the old so that you can clear yourself to receive the new. Uranus squaring the Moon can be something as simple as finally being able to speak your truth on an emotional level,clearing away energetic blockages as you do so. While Pluto ‘s square to the Moon will help you transform the deepest of long held onto emotions. There may be some “aha” moments over the next few days, as you become aware of how your thoughts and behaviour have been attracting certain situations into your life. As Pluto is involved, power struggles and control issues are at the top of the list-particularly with family members and housemates. The sooner that we learn that the only control we have is over ourselves, the better all of our relationships will become. Speaking of relationships, this new moon is the perfect time to clear issues with family members and find ways of connecting that suit everyone involved. It is also time to start looking at your surroundings and what you can do to create a more nurturing and nourishing space for yourself and your family. Clear out anything that isn’t needed on a physical level-such as clothes ,books, furniture etc, and look at making your environment reflect more of who you are on a soul level. This is a time of change, and sometimes change can be painful as we say goodbye to things that once brought security but now bring stagnation. It can also mean saying goodbye to a family member, or the hopes and dreams of having a better relationship with one of them. Remember that Cancer is very family oriented and because of this there may be a tendency to keep certain family members in your life even if they are exhibiting behaviour that you wouldn’t put up with from a friend or a partner. While I am all for sorting out issues and coming to a place of resolution, I am also aware that sometimes this just does not occur. Self preservation is also important, and sometimes it’s best to give yourself from distance from other’s so that you can get not only more clarity around the connection, but what your actual need for that connection is. Venus and Uranus will bring heightened creativity, exciting exchanges in relationships, and the ability to attract in money doing what you love,while the trine between Saturn and Neptune will give you the ability to turn your dreams into reality once your garden has been weeded.. Saturn gives structure and form to the musings of Neptune, so start looking at what you like to see manifested on the earthy plane. The sky is the limit, but you will also need to have commitment and perseverance if you want to see changes in your world. Work with the planets to co-create what it is that you want. The planets are there to support you, not do everything for you.
