What are the odds of this? The transmission died on my car tonight. I called a customer who lived nearby to get a ride home. The transmission on his car died going up the hill to my house. Seriously, what are the odds of that? It was pretty scary. I couldnt get out of first gear for a few miles. Then, as I was going up a hill on a narrow road with no shoulder, the transmission totally disengaged and the car started going backwards. I had nowhere to pull over and a long row of cars behind me. A good Samaritan started asking everyone to drive around me as I let the car slowly slide backwards until I was able to get off the road.
