What are you reading? Karin Mayes, Sierra Vista ELAA teacher, just finished two books. The first was Wild by Cheryl Strayed, about a young woman who hikes the Pacific Crest Trail on a journey to self-discovery. It is now a movie with Reese Witherspoon. The second was “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest” by Stiegg Larsson. To quote the book’s back cover, it is “part blistering espionage thriller, part riveting police procedural, and part piercing expose on social injustice. The two books currently on Karin’s nightstand are Wherever You Go, There You Are about mindful meditation by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Life: Selected Quotations, a collection of quotations from various books by Paulo Coelho.
