What is a girl to do? What needs to happen to get a dance apart from taking your own man with you? Went to Flac on Saturday, 2.5 hours to get there, so excited, beautiful hotel, lovely afternoon out with the girlies. Arrived at the venue bout 10.30pm, Badoxa was brilliant, David Flor was fab in his show, cuban versus angolan line up was such fun and we enjoyed some lovely music. Arrived back at the hotel about 3.30am so so disappointed and frustrated. Only had 6 dances all night. I asked perhaps I should have made more effort to ask for dances only to be told by my friend that she had been refused 5 times and ignored a number of times also and another friend was questioning whether to continue with the dance. We only wanted a dance, not your soul, we wereny given a chance, yes we may have been strangers but you may have enjoyed dancing with us. Its not looking great for the future of kizomba or salsa if this is the norm. What of the new students we encourage to get and about if they are only made to feel how we did. Thankyou to those who did give us their time and dance with us The six hour round trip, and money spent was worth it for the fab company and lovely sights but the very reason we went was a let down. Future trips will be closer to home or taken with my dance partner.
