What is ahead for me this year? On Feb. 9th, I get my long awaited rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. After that is weeks of recovery and therapy, with my left arm in a sling. I am sure I will be able to continue to draw signs, so it will not disrupt my ability to keep my clients that I freelance for. I have practiced drawing with only my right hand. But since I drive a truck with a clutch transmission, I will not be able to drive for awhile until I can use my left arm again. Hopefully by July, I will have saved up enough money to move to Ventura County to start a full time position at Global Sign Systems. I intend to move into a temporary rooming situation which will double as an office that I can work in until GSS opens it new facility in Camarillo. When GSS opens its new facility, I will be moving in on site into a custom built apartment area inside the building. I will be drawing for 40 hours a week, and at night I will also be the security guard/night watchman. I will look forward to buying all new furniture at Ikea to furnish this apartment, and hopefully will be able to have a situation where I can move my telescope easily outdoors for observing. I have already investigated living situations out there, and I may elect to take classes at Moorpark College. I also look forward to joining the local astronomy club, the Ventura County Astronomical Society. Ventura County is less populated than Los Angeles County. There is less traffic and less crime. There is also less light pollution, which is a big plus in my book.
