What is hell? I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable - TopicsExpress

What is hell? I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love. (Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov) Pretty much what C.S. Lewis suggests in The Great Divorce. In that book no one really ever chooses to go to heaven. They like hell better. I think that might be right. Look around. Generally our capacity or even our desire to concretely love, say for example little children dying every three seconds or so from preventable causes, is kinda pathetic. And, I dont hear many suggesting much rationale for changing the situation. Most of us, Christian or not, just seem to keep digging in .... into hell. This is the best apologetic I know of for hell, AND, for that matter, heaven. Certainly in this world few there are than find the pathway to heaven, and when they do, we just might write a book or two celebrating their lives ... after we kill them, or otherwise marginalize them, that is for causing so much trouble and messing around with our lives as they often do. Hell just doesnt like heaven much. I would love to have your thoughts.
