What is loneliness? Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation from the rest of the world... Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person; it is a feeling that can not be easily fulfilled by anyone, except thru Jesus Christ. Being alone could be a choice, it is not the same thing as loneliness. Sometimes you might be surrounded by many other people, but you may still feel unhappy and empty inside. When you feel lonely, you feel like you don’t have strength to carry on with your life, and because we feel like that, we make wrong choices in our lives. Sometimes we tend to think that by having many friends, having a girlfriend/boyfriend, even by attending church, or by committing suicide that we are going to overcome loneliness. The only true way to overcome loneliness in this world is by finding refuge and having a personal relationship with God. No one else can overcome loneliness in your life, but God! God said in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”. Sometimes it is necessary for us to go thru a “desert” or a period of tribulation, in order to grow in God, and learn how to be patient in Him. God wants to perfect us in our weakness, and use us, however sometimes we are too stubborn, arrogant, and inpatient that we do not permit Him to change our heart, because of the things that we carry inside. God wants to clean us, God wants to use us, God wants us to humble ourselves to Him and accept that we can not do it by ourselves. He wants to change us, but furthermore He wants us to give Him the opportunity to be our Father, and for us to become His children. We do not let it happen because we think that we can overcome the problem by ourselves, but let’s remember that this is a problem from our soul that is screaming for Help! Only God can resolve all of your problems, Only He can change you! Only He can love you forever and never fail you. He changes your heart/your mind/your soul and liberates you when you come to Him in the name of His son, Jesus Christ. When we are lonely, we have to take advantage of this opportunity that God has given us to seek Him and be with Him, because those who knock, the door shall be opened. God has promised us that even if we walk thru the valley of the shadow of death that we should not fear because He is with us, forever. Even when our parents (family) forsake us/abandon us, He will be there for us; because His is love is unfailing, and never-ending. When we are in His presence, we are fulfilled by His love and we are truly complete. Only in silence, our heart could wait and listen to the voice of God. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
