What is on my mind, Facebook? ADVOCACY, advocacy and education. Paying-it-forward is on my mind. I was taught at home by my FIRST teachers- my parents, and by the wonderful teachers, nuns, priests, Christian brothers,and professors in my grammar, high school and college years that education is the key to EVERYTHING! Ive taught my students for the last twenty-eight years, that education and advocacy go hand-in-hand. Both equal in their importance and mutually reliant upon one another. Those who have been denied education,eventually benefited from anothers advocacy. Once their quest for education was satisfied, they, too, advocated for another group. From my AMAZING colleagues at PS 23, I learned the craft of teaching and valued the sacrifices they made so MY LIFE as a teacher would be better as would the lives of our students. I advocate for education and carry the torch for the next generation of teachers. Passion is infectious and it is my hope that the young teachers, paraprofessionals and all school support staff continue to advocate for education. This is why I ask you to support three individuals whose advocacy for education is palpable.So, Jersey City friends, neighbors, former students and parents, on November 4th, PLEASE GO TO THE POLLS and ELECT Lorenzo Richardson 1H, Joel Torres 3H and Gerald Lyons 7H so that advocacy and education proceed hand-in-hand.
