What to do, what to do? The dogs owner called me on Monday and told me that he might want to give him away. Hes kept this tiny Pomeranian OUTSIDE with a choker collar. The dog keeps chewing collars off and running away. I was supposed to call the owner after work but I lost his number. Since then Ive decided that he belongs with me. Long story. Today the man called me again (I didnt think he had my number- animal shelter called for him the first time) and stupid me answered the phone and told him that I want to keep Cotton (his name for the dog). Now he says he wants to keep him and misses him. If I dont give him back, can I get in trouble? This man lives on 4 acres but right on hwy. 70. He didnt worry about the dog from Friday until Monday, but now hes been to the pound twice to try to find him. My heart is broken thinking of this baby living outside. He was flea-ridden when I rescued him from a sure death on Friday. Okay, Im getting dramatic, but he was passed out on the highway and people had to swerve to keep from hitting him. Should I call the police and ask about the mans rights? This seems like a small thing to some people, but I want what is best for Cotton!
