What you may not know is that my husband almost lost his life to serve and protect. He is the most selfless person I know. He wouldnt blink an eye to give his life for yours. Please dont forget what these brave men and women do for us every day. He was told he would never fully recover. He was told he would never return to the one thing that keeps him breathing...being in law enforcement. He was told he wasnt good enough, too old, too much time had passed. He never gave up on his dream and I believe the Lord heard the cries of his heart. He doesnt do it for recognition. He doesnt do it for glory. He does it for freedom. YOUR freedom. So when you lay your head down at night, safely tucked into your bed, please say a prayer for him and all the others who choose to lay it all on the line every day for you. To me its a sacrifice.
