Whats your story? Karen, now living in Peoria, just shared this one... My husband, a minister, our daughters, and I have always enjoyed listening to contemporary Christian music. When we lived in the US, we always found a local Christian radio station to listen to. Four years ago, we had to return to my non-English speaking town in Canada. It was difficult to find any English speaking Christian radio station. As parents of teenage daughters, we tried our best to purchase annually Christian music CDs such as the WOW, to continue to maintain our enjoyment and encouragement in our Christian walk. I first discovered WCIC through the internet. The announcer always mentioned the towns of Peoria and Pekin, Illinois. I thought that was interesting. I had never heard of these cities since our family lived basically in Florida and Delaware when we lived in the US. Suddenly, January this past year, I was laid off from job. Essentially, being bilingual (English and French speaker) my income helped support my husbands Christian ministry, PhD education, foreign missionary work, and most of our family-typical necessities. I submitted my prayer request to WCIC. The Lord did open the doors in His most beautiful and wondrous ways. As I was preparing for the background information for one of the companies that granted me an interview, I discovered that its head offices were in Peoria, IL. Was this the same Peoria that I had submitted a prayer request to its station regarding my situation? I have been working at Caterpillar since February. The only words I could say is Great art Thou, O Lord, and marvelous are Thy works, and there is no word which sufficeth to hymn Thy wonders. May the Lord continue to bless you. You can share your story at the WCIC web site. Thank you for your stories which encourage hearts around the world!
