When I began my garden I bought a bunch of seed packs and planted - TopicsExpress

When I began my garden I bought a bunch of seed packs and planted each seed with a grateful thought. When I had a good day, event, or feeling that happened I dug a hole a planted a seed to keep the memory alive. Ive never been good with change. Ive always glorified the past and held on too tight. Gardening has helped me along with many of my life lessons..... Acceptance and patience to name just a couple. Lately Ive been fighting this powdery mildew along with a pit bull and a Roomate that think its fun to chase possums through my garden. Last week my main vine to my pumpkin plant was mangled by possum chase. I buried the vine in hopes that the pumpkin may survive. Im weighing it daily now to see if it is still growing. We will see what Mother Nature gives me. Also my sunflowers after their glorious opening are starting to droop because of the weight of their heads which is natural but it tends to make me sad. Today I had to cut most the leaves off my pumpkin plant and my garden looks bare. At first I was sad but then I thought about it....I have learned something about the plants and the next ones will be stronger. I can use pots or get a fence because I cant expect others to change their ways. I educated myself on the diseases and mites so the same mistakes dont happen again. The greatest of all is....I get to plant more seeds!! With more seeds come more grateful thoughts and memories. Change is good. Perception is the key. I look forward to sharing this gift of nature with my son someday.
