When I bought my house 5 years ago I stole 31 of Claires room to make my galley kitchen usable. I also took down the wall that separates the kitchen from the dining room. As both were load bearing it was no easy feat. The gas stove migrated to the opposite side of the kitchen but the vent hood stayed behind. Our pantry for the last 4 years has been the remains of the built-in I sawzalled out during the demo. My kitchen has no counter space and only one drawer. Its been awful but after long enough, awful becomes livable. . As you know, when you have money, you dont have time and vice versa. Since I started this business the last thing i want to do after work is work on my house. Im proud to announce phase one of the redux is almost complete. My counters are 39 which is 3 higher than standard. I need to touch up, build a platform to raise the stove, add knobs,... I made the cabs all drawers, the counters are sugar maple reclaimed bowling alley. After all this my favorite part is the groovy color cycling under cabin LEDs that were $30 ikea. Well, that and the spice rack cabinet. Now about those floors....
