When I see this see this Jacob Barnett talk I think, if he had - TopicsExpress

When I see this see this Jacob Barnett talk I think, if he had been born neurotypical and not autistic we would have been denied this brilliant, fantastic, amazing human being. It makes me anxious to consider it. I know those of you with children on the spectrum struggle and its not a little struggle so I want you to know that I see that. But looking at this as a keen observer of children, I think theres something very basic about autism that we dont understand and I think its here to help us go forward. I dont know how and I dont wish to minimize the struggle or to say that theres a silver lining or anything like that. What Im saying is, to me, it has all of the earmarks of a gift that is still wrapped up. Its there, but we dont know what it is and we dont know how to open it. I wish we could figure out this operating system because I think its powerful and game changing. I dont think Jacob is a one-off. I see autistic children and behind what presents I sense there is Something Else. A great mystery. I just love Jacob Barnett.
