When I was 6 years old, my father brought home a Tandy TRS 80 - TopicsExpress

When I was 6 years old, my father brought home a Tandy TRS 80 computer. It was a clunky PC that connected a 13 TV and had a giant 5 1/4 external floppy drive. Id watch him for hours read out of a giant book and type what looked like Gibberish into this machine. I snuck into the office one day when he was gone, and opened up this giant book to a random page. On the page was numbered lines with gibberish after each number. I copied it in like I saw him, and typed run. My hours worth of typing created a game where you were asked the Capitol of each of the United States. When you got it right, youd be rewarded with a blocky smile face and a quick happy tune. When you got it wrong it offered up a frown blocky face with a quick sad tune. Ive been a nerd ever since. Happy Birthday Basic computer Language, thanks for bringing me into the world of computers at such a young age!
