When I was a little boy, I remember feeling sad for no particular - TopicsExpress

When I was a little boy, I remember feeling sad for no particular reason at all. I can only describe it as if I was homesick for a place Id never been, or at least a place I couldnt remember. And this feeling abides still today. Society is sometimes too quick to pathologize and prescribe fixes for what are actually completely natural states of mind. In studying the journey of souls, well-charted by wise teachers like Dr. Brian Weiss, Ive learned that we are quite literally aliens here, spiritual beings having an earthbound experience, and the deepest part of us longs to return to the Place from whence we came. Its possible that some forms of melancholy are simply a lingering homesickness of the soul, for which there is no cure, only a balm: repeated acts and thoughts of peace and compassion, each of which serve as a brief homecoming, returning us over and over again to Love.
