When Mike was an impressionable and unencumbered young man lying in his Texas Tech dorm room in the late 80s, walkman strapped to his head, being blown away by the band he just discovered, never in his wildest dreams would he have ever imagine that he would eventually open for the great, the innovative, the bombastic PUBLIC ENEMY. It was exciting and strange as young white man wading into the uncertain waters of politically and culturally charged rap (thats what hip hop used to be called) and such an eye opening experience much like when he discovered the womans section in the Sears catalogue years before. A new door had been opened. This spring April 17-19, help that young man fufill a life long ambition and attend the DEEP ELLUM BLOCK PARTY.
