When Moses, on the Lord Gods instruction, was setting down the laws of worshiping God, he told Israel in Deuteronomy 12:8 You shall not do as we are doing here today - EVERY MAN DOING WHATEVER IS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES. God dictated how mans relationship with Him should be: He is to be obeyed as His way is the way of holiness and righteousness. Israel, however, went their own way, which was worshiping other gods whose ways were contrary to Gods ways. And God kept sending His prophets to them, saying I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! Why should you die, O house of Israel? (Ezekiel 33:11) Sad to say, many Christians have turned away from the way of the Lord and followed other doctrines contrary to His Word. In the end, every person will stand before God. It is best that we believers, as we stand before Him, can say LORD, I HAVE OBEYED YOUR WORD.
