When did it become proper business etiquette to put multiple exclamation points or question marks in either the subject line, or in the sign off? I got an e-mail about a job opportunity (no Im not looking) with the subject line of QA Analyst!! Really?! I have a vague idea of what a QA Analyst does, and I dont think its anything exciting enough to warrant one !, let alone two. I sent a report to a coworker that I send every week, and is very simple, not hard to run, and isnt really that important in the grand scheme of things. They sent back an e-mail thanking me for sending it, and in their signature line it said Thanks!!! Wow if you are that excited about this mundane report, I cant wait to see you lose your shit when I send you that major report. Heres an idea, how about you read that e-mail to yourself, using the emphasis as you currently have it, and see if it still makes sense to be that excited, or to be shouting at me.
