When entering in discussions online sometimes emotions may flare - TopicsExpress

When entering in discussions online sometimes emotions may flare up. A debate is a factual discussion. (a discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing viewpoints) An argument is an emotional discussion. (an oral disagreement; verbal opposition; contention; altercation: a violent argument.) Have debates not arguments. Debates are more likely to reach some form of middle ground where as arguments are highly opinion based and rarely meet any form of agreement. Think about what it is you plan on stating, read through the others statement, then reread your own and try to reach a middle ground or compromise. If you feel emotionally involved in a post or opinion you see online it is a good idea to leave it alone and not look at it, no matter how tempting it may be to voice your emotional opinion on the matter. Wait until you are calm and have thought your post through before joining in any discussions (think before you speak is a general rule in life and on the web) ^^ *heads off to work all nonchalant like*
