When extremist policies combine... Kris Kobachs voter citizenship requirement meets the GOP Congress refusal to pass the Presidents appointees. Today is the court-appointed deadline for the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to decide if they will support Kris Kobachs request for a U.S. citizenship requirement on Federal voter registration forms. Kobach says this is needed for use in Kansas, so the State is not forced to create a costly and cumbersome dual registration system, whereby some KS voters are denied the right to vote in State elections. The kicker, from the AP article, The commission initially deferred making a decision because all of its seats, which are appointed by the president, are vacant. But the U.S. Justice Department, which represents the commission, said last month that the commissions employees could make a final decision.
