When it comes to animals, Im almost embarrassingly soft. I dont like to kill anything short of biting insects. So todays incident was upsetting to me. I was trying to cut something with my seldom-used bandsaw. It wouldnt spin. With the power off, I tried turning it by hand thinking some rust had set it somewhere along the length of the blade. I turned it and turned it and kept trying to get it spinning. It just wouldnt go. I finally spun it by hand about 3 times and then turned it on and...the nearly cut-in-half body of a mouse and his little nest came flying out onto the table. It was still alive and clearly suffering. I gave him as merciful end as I could. I know its mental but I felt so bad. I didnt know he was in there or I would have opened the housing and let him go. I know at least 5 people who are going to ridicule me for this but I am what I am. And killing stuff aint in my nature any more.
