When my wife became very ill a couple of months ago, her illness coincided with our granddaughter Janies ninth birthday. If you know or recall how special birthdays are for kids, you can appreciate Janies postponing her own birthday celebration until such time as Grandma could attend it. That happened today. Our daughter told us that Janie said that her grandmother had been at all of her birthday parties, and she didnt want her to miss this one--even if she didnt bring her a present! What an extraordinary demonstration of love, kindness and consideration from the heart of our dear granddaughter. That made today very special!
