When we decided to compete in the Australian Sports Racers Series at the beginning of the year we only expected a podium finish, not fighting for the outright win. We achieved a podium finish every round and whilst disappointed in a DNF with 2 laps to go when in the lead of the race and championship in the second to last race of the year, due to 2nd gear exiting through the crankcase, Roger came second in the National Championship. Thank-you to our family, friends and supporters for your well wishes and encouragement. Sports Race # 53 - The Stoeckels - meeting you at the beginning of the year you became our racing family. Thank-you for your friendship and help and especially for attending the last 2 rounds, even travelling interstate to support us when Jonothan was not competing due to injury . Fellow ASR drivers - thank-you for your help and support, especially yesterday in keeping Roger in the championship hunt, by offering Roger one of your own cars to complete the championship (against the rules) to lending your pitcrew, offers of engines and more :). The West Pit Crew - you are an amazing group of hard working young men who helped Ken and Roger replace a complete engine between races .... in 2 1/2 hours. Thank-you to Rob & Liam Kirkpatrick, Amanda and team for making us feel welcome in the Shannons Nationals - it was a great racing category and group of competitors. Adam - congratulations on obtaining #1 in the championship and for your kind words of encouragement for Rogers future motor racing career. ROG - YOU ARE A CHAMPION! Remember all the things you have achieved throughout the year, especially the respect you earned from your peers. ..................... sometimes things are just out of our control xxx
