When you decide to live for Christ, there are just some things that you will have to give up and that’s what it is. These sacrifices can also include music. Music??? YES, music. The world was framed by words, we are made in the image of God, therefore our words have power. If I believe ‘thou shall not kill’, it makes no sense to ride around quoting ‘I’ll shoot you in the face’. When we speak anything contrary to the word of God, we are literally going against what He said. “It’s just a song” they say. Ok, well why do we get mad when they call us out of our name? Why do we pray? Why do we talk on the phone? Why is communicating the source of all relationships? IF words don’t mean anything. Let’s not forget that satan is a fallen angel who was the head of the ministry of music in Heaven when he was in heaven. He was the most beautiful of the angels and he was the director of praise and worship. The bible describes him as being made up of sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire, emerald, carbuncle, and gold: he had pipes in him. He was literally a walking, talking instrument! So, he uses this opportunity in a very subtle way to get us to go against God without even knowing it. So do not be deceived. Quoting “just a song” or talking crazy in everyday conversation can do more damage than you think.
