When you know you are near the end of your Christmass, every memory takes on a special poignancy, times of joy and sorrow, old longings and old satisfactions. One dream of mine was to be able to play The Grieg Piano Concerto. i managed the opening bars and the great ending.. but anything beyond the big chords was beyond me. Then recently, i found this recording on YouTube of that passionate pianist, Khatia Buniatishvili - yes! She reminds of old longings and old satisfactions, and i thank her for this beauty, of her talent, and her soul, playing that beloved composition of dear Grieg. i swear if you want to be touched by the spectacular in music,, maybe take time to watch and listen - watching is an important as listening as she is one passionate woman - makes love to the music, the piano, and the orchestra. The whole concerto is half an hour - well worth it,, but even the first movement.. or the last,. or maybe the second. :) Ahhh...wish you were here to listen with me.. Maybe you are.
