Whereas the little cultivator we discovered is good for turning the soil in order to mix and aerate it, there are problems. The blades will be harmful for the earthworms in the soil. Were trying to think of a gentler mechanism for mixing that wont cause harm to our little friends in the soil. This is what was highlighted by Preeti in her little interaction with us. Natural Farming should be minimal in its use of energy and disturbance to the eco-system. We need to minimise our use of plastics and perhaps encourage the reuse of plastics such as milk-packets for cultivation and to replace plastics and metal with bamboo wherever possible.
