Whew!! I just took on a snake that got in my house. LOL... trapped it in the bathroom in the trash can with my broom. Tried to keep it in the little trashcan that is the bathroom... one of those little ones like that. It got out as I was taking it down the hall. Broom wasnt wide enough to cover both sides. I was ready for it. LOL I had on my black army type boots tied up to the shins with my pants tucked in them. Had on my coat all zipped up with gloves on. (Found gloves for the battle... and only one was leather I find right quick to take on a snake. lol The other... I just put on a rubber type glove with a wool glove over it. Put the leather glove on my right hand Id grab the snake with.) It was a black snake about 6-8 foot long (it was a long snake). I wouldnt be takin on a rattler or a copperhead... like they have up here... grabbing for its head. It went on the hallway floor like that... and I had to grab it to get it!! Held it down with my broom... and grabbed up as close to the head as I could. It wasnt high up enough. That snake went and coiled and hit my hand with its fangs as hard as it could... and STUCK its fangs in my leather glove on my right hand. So... then what I did... I just grabbed it with my left hand as close to the head then... and went for the outdoors with that!! It coiled itself around my right wrist and forearm. I got outside where I was off hte front porch on the ground... and its dark and I sure didnt want to trip and fall with a snake on me!! So, I stopped there... and I unhooked its fangs from my leather glove and tried to get it uncoiled off my arm... and THREW THAT BABY... hoping and praying it wouldnt hook me in any way with its fangs... and stay stuck to me. Whew! Successfully threw that baby away from me... came in and slammed the door behind me. Laura ONE. Snakes ZERO. :)
