Our host is Mr. Jun Castillo of Coconut House! Here is a backgrounder: -a social agri-entrepreneur who took coconut business to greater heights. -Castillo owns Coconut House, a 5-year-old restaurant in the verdant Quezon City Memorial Park. Over the years, his restaurant has become popular for its novelty dishes utilising coconut -there are an array of products for sale in Mr Castillos Restaurant such as virgin coconut oil, coconut sugar, coconut flour, and even ornaments made out of coconut by-products – all made by groups of small farmers who have taken advantage of the training programs given by Philippine Coconut Society, where Castillo sits as president. -Jun started using coconuts in a backyard factory for his ice cream business called the Ice Cream House that sells both the traditional dairy and non-dairy ice cream which is lower in sugar and is totally made from coconut product -Jun has been involved in coconuts for 40 years.
