While pulling weeds from my grass by hand today I thought about the choice I had made several years ago to no longer use weed and feed on my lawn. When I originally made this decision it was for my children and to keep the toxins out of the food we were growing in our garden. Now I think about the impact all of the toxins my neighbors are dumping on their lawns, that flow into the local watersheds and into the columbia then into the ocean. Then the fish we harvest are contaminated with these toxins, we catch them and consume them thinking they are healthy food for us. This year I gave up something that I have used for years and if you know me it will shock you. Armorall tire shine. My family and I already use all natural cleaners, detergents, car wash soap, etc. But this was one thing I gave up for the Steelhead/Salmon that I love... What will you change this year to improve the health of your local watershed?
