While shopping at Meijers in Big Rapids today, I witnessed something that few would recognize. While talking to an associate, he excused himself and quickly walked away speaking into his telephone. I noticed some others walking in the same direction and asked Chris Schwandt if there was a problem. It turned out to be a false report of a missing child, but within 15 seconds of receiving the alert, approximately 15 associates were meeting at one place, ready to execute a search. What a wonderful feeling, knowing that these people would drop all their job assignments and leap into action. Chris and his staff can be proud of themselves.
