While there have been accusations that Israels goal is to wipe Gaza off the face of the Earth in a genocidal fashion, its been difficult to find Israeli officials stating this.... until now: Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai: “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the middle ages”, “Destroying all the infrastructure including roads and water.” (Destroying civilian infrastructure and utilities according to the U.N. is a human rights violation). The more Qassam [rocket] fire intensifies and the rockets reach a longer range, they will bring upon themselves a bigger shoah [Hebrew word for Jewish Holocaust] because we will use all our might to defend ourselves, Matan Vilnai, Israels deputy defence minister, told army radio. There are also accusations that similar to the CIAs enabling of the formation of the Taliban in Afghanistan in the 80s, Israel has enabled the formation of Hamas.
