Who loves chokos? I do. My favourite part is the seed. Best of all, I like them boiled until tender, then soaked in a white sauce with cheese and mustard in it, pepper and salt to taste. Yum! As long as they are picked when young, they are delicious! LIGHTNING QUICK CHEESE AND MUSTARD SAUCE FOR CHOKOS Heres a quick way to make cheese sauce, and it is never lumpy. Place on the stove a small saucepan containing some cold milk - fill to about half way. Mix cornflour - about three heaped dessertspoons, straight into the cold milk on the stove. Stir until smooth. You can use a beater or a whisk if you like, but a dessertspoon does just fine. Add a half teaspoon of mustard to the milk, pepper and salt to taste. Add grated cheese to the milk mixture. Now, turn on the stove. Start stirring slowly and keep stirring constantly at a nice steady rate until you have your wonderful cheese sauce. Watch the heat and dont have the stove too hot or the sauce will burn. If any of you would like a choko vine for your fence- that is - a choko already shooting into a vine - please call around with $5 and its yours. I have 3 choko vines just starting at the moment.
