Who remembers when LIFE published this picture in 1954...it was called coming home because it caught Americas image of what grandmas home was like...you know, white frame, modest trappings, friendly gray haired couple always in place just waiting to be visited by the grandchildren ...now 60 years later grandparents dont always look and act this way...life in America has accelerated and internationalized with its daily delivery of new computer tools & toys...miss this other America?...sorry, too late!
