Who would have thought that one of the most timid creatures living - TopicsExpress

Who would have thought that one of the most timid creatures living amongst the wildlife of the british isles are alledgedly coughing directly or indirectly on farmers cattle. This is what the farmers of somerset and other counties believe. This brash decision to cull shows that it would appear the conservatives only care about conserving the pennies in their back pocket. Badgers are a protected species, cows are not, i have heard nothing on the news about culling cows to protect badgers from tb, perhaps Orwell was correct literally when he stated in his novel animal farm that some animals are more equal than others. We have heard no solid scientific evidence that badgers are a major cause of the spread of the disease and there is no way to test killed badgers for the presense of tb. The only reasoning behind it are sketchy results from other culls in france and spain. This kind of interfering with nature makes me as mad as a badger because there are other ways to prevent the spread such as vaccination and better bovine waste management but none of these solutions will satisfy the toffs bloodlust that has been welling since the Labour government banned fox hunting. There is a saying "a squirrel could at one time jump from tree to tree from the top of scotland to the bottom of england.". The badgers native home has been decimated since the arrival of humans. How far will mans lust for conquering nature go before we realise we are conquering our own gardens and our own homes. The maximum amount of money the cull hopes to save is 40 million this requires the deaths of many thousands of badgers and the whole thing is founded on shady reasonings not scientific consensus. Regardless of if this cull is effective, i will be fighting in the badgers corner. Remember dear mr liscensed hunter, underdogs bite upward!
