Whos your choice for President? Facebook EPoll SURVEY ENDS; RESULTS MADE PUBLIC MONDAY By Manny Pinol An on-line straw polling which asked Filipinos who are members of the Facebook community to select their bet for the Philippine presidency in 2016 officially ended at 12 noon today and the results will be made public during a press conference tomorrow. The results will be revealed during the Kapehan sa Davao sa SM City Annex in Ecoland, Davao City at 10:30 a.m., a regular Monday press conference handled by respected members of the press in Southern Mindanao. The on-line straw polling using Facebooks EPoll apps was read by almost 440,000 Filipinos between ages of 18 to 65 and above living in the Philippines, United States, Canada, Great Britain, Hongkong and other countries with large Filipino expatriates. Of this number, over 5,000 participated in the polling. Six political personalities were included in the on-line polling. They are Vice President Jejomar Binay, who has publicly declared his intention to run for President in 2016, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, the presumptive standard bearer of the Liberal Party, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who has signified that she may vie for the Presidency, Senators Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr. and Grace Poe, and Davao City Rodrigo Duterte who has repeatedly declared that he has no interest in the top position but who is being endorsed by several sectors. While the on-line polling is largely considered by public opinion survey experts as flawed and not scientific, this has been employed by major media groups, including major newspapers. The Philippine Star newspaper, for example, recently conducted an on-line survey which showed that 91% of its readers believed that the controversial Rosario, Batangas property called Hacienda Binay is owned by the Vice President in spite of his vehement denial. Also to be shared tomorrow are some of the comments and reactions of Facebook followers of MannyPiñol on the survey and their preferred candidates.
