Why Worry? Matthew 6:25-27 “That is why I tell you not to worry - TopicsExpress

Why Worry? Matthew 6:25-27 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 . It’s stunning simplistic how the words of Jesus strike right to the heart of an issue. I love His blunt, eye-opening question in verse 27: “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” And of course the answer is a resounding, “No!” In fact, many recent medical studies have shown that stress leads to an early grave. But Jesus also points out another flaw in our earthly way thinking—the thinking that survival is the most important thing. The fact is that God wants us to do more than merely survive; He wants us to live an abundant life, overflowing with joyful experiences. He doesn’t just want us to just live, He wants us to thrive! And not just for a few decades here on this sin-soaked planet; no, He wants us to spend all of eternity flourishing with Him in true quality living.**Stolen** Have a blessed sunday!
