Why couldnt ID and DD graduates of high school receive lottery funds for Supported Employment or some DIDD service in preparation for job force for a limited time following high school if not for vocational school or college? Aged out foster children could have options for transitioning? Bill Haslam You referenced the future job market and needs for Tennessee, perhaps a revision to the stated purpose of the law to avoid discriminating against Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities could solve multiple problems. Have faith that these vulnerable individuals want to have meaningful productive lives. Legislators are currently evaluating DCS Extended Foster Care, DIDD Supported Employment and Vocational Rehabilitation systems and these programs could be utilized to promote success for our vulnerable youth. This could be a way to make the ineffective Interagency Agreement functional.
