Why do women fall in love with men who cheat, are distant, are emotionally unavailable... or just the wrong kind of man? My response: Many women seek validation and determine their worthiness from *precisely* the wrong man. If she can get him to love her... she will feel important... valued... worthy of love because he changed for her. If she cant... then shes not surprised... and all men are the same or Im not worthy of love. Something is wrong with me. Many, *many* times, this is due to father/daughter relations... where the father is distant and/or unloving, and she seeks his approval — but never gets it. So... she seeks it elsewhere later in life... to no avail. Even if the relationship with her father is a good one, once this pattern is established its very challenging to break out of... because its familiar... and familiarity—no matter how bad—is oftentimes better than learning something new/different. Familiar is predictable... while change is the unknown.
