Why use Himalayan cooking salt???? Table salt is the most common type of salt found in grocery stores, cafes and restaurants. Most of us have too much of this type of salt through processed foods. This salt is harvested from either underground mines or from sea water. Unlike Himalayan Salt, table salt is heavily processed where ingredients are added to it. These ingredients include anti-clumping agents to the salt which contain high amounts of aluminum. Sugars are also added as stabilizers and they also neutralize the bitter taste of the aluminum. Himalayan salt is rich in minerals and trace elements and is unrefined and unprocessed. The salt ranges in colour from white to varying shades of pink to red. Himalayan Pink Salt is believed to be the purest salt available. We now stock Himalayan grinding salt and Himalayan cooking salt.
