Wifey-Faye and I watched a movie last night suggested by Darrell - TopicsExpress

Wifey-Faye and I watched a movie last night suggested by Darrell Langley: The Oxford Murders. This mystery-thriller would be a good movie to use in a math class. Let me explain... At Oxford University, a professor and a grad student work together to try to stop a potential series of murders seemingly linked by mathematical symbols. The characters debate several mathematical, physical and philosophical concepts such as logical series, Wittgensteins rule-following paradox, Heisenbergs Principle of Uncertainty, Gödels Theorem, etc., and Im certain math majors would pick up on all sorts of visual symbols in the film. Its an R rated film (perhaps because of some grotesques scenes and the ample endowments of Leonor Watling in scenes with Elijah Wood. Has anyone seen the movie? What did you think of it?
