With a legacy of slaughtering neighbors or turning a blind eye to the extermination of ethnic groups, I find it interesting how Europeans are somehow reverted as liberal , tolerant and open minded, presenting the ideal in modern civilized societies; at least until their non diverse and intolerant attitudes appear above surface and its too obvious to not be denounced. No society is perfect, as we know (eg. our own struggle with African slaves, native Americans and even modern prejudices against Muslims...), but the Western American advancement for women, minorities (a term I loathe) and hopefully one day, the unborn is paramount to any society in documented history.....
