With all this rain I thought it might be good to offer some tips on keeping your skin looking fresh in damp or humid weather! Lighten Up- Somewhere around springtime, you should pack away your heavy winter moisturizer and use a lightweight water-based one instead. A lighter moisturizer will feel less sticky, and will allow your skin to breathe more freely without making your skin feel weighed down. Cleanse Daily- Start off your day by using a gentle cleanser to get rid of the impurities that tend to naturally build up in warmer weather. Exfoliate- Once a week use an exfoliator to get rid of the dead skin cells and give your skin a fresh clean look. Blot- Carry some thin tissue blotters in your purse, that you can use to blot away any moisture from your face whenever you need a touch up. People with oily skin use this trick a lot and it really works wonders. Spray- Spray your face with some rose water or just some plain water, to give your skin a nice boost of energy and to help with the cooling process. Less Is More- It’s hard for your skin to breathe if you’ve layered on SPF, moisturizer, foundation, blush and eye makeup. The only products that are absolutely necessary are the SPF and moisturizer, so try to keep the use of the other products down a little bit. Don’t forget this is only for a short matter of time and often times women find that their skin no longer needs a lot of makeup after a few weeks of not wearing any. Switch- If you absolutely have to use concealer then switch out your cream concealer for a powder one. Powders will give you a similar effect and are much better for your skin in the humid weather. source: bit.ly/oTYhEv
