With more than 7 lakh Engineering students graduating every year in Computer Engineering and also the lakhs of students in other majors who wish to get into the IT industry, there is clearly a much higher supply than demand. This is evident from the fact that the entry level salary even today is around 3 lakhs per annum, which is the same that our seniors used to get 6 years back(and the same that I got in 2010). With the IT companies in India planning to reduce the new hires in the coming years and also with the negative attitude of North American and European economies towards outsourcing, things are only going to get tougher.
